I've taken some sunset shots with silhouettes against the light that had a nice outline from the light and wanted to do a variation of a few of my favorite Ray Charles photos with that technique.
I honestly don't think it will do that well here... predicting sub 5, 5.0 at best, but I'm hoping some people will understand the reference in the title.
Cropped, cloned out some lines, levels, dodge and burn, dodge and burn, dodge and burn, selective color layer and hue/saturation, cropped again, added border, resized.
Shot on a manual Nikkor 35mm f/2 (F-mount lens wedged into my K-mount body, no adapter) |

A well positioned image and, even though the lights are blown out they add to the outline and shape of the main subject. Nice shot. |

A very different type of silhouette that is slightly affected by the slightly over the edge white spotlight. The spot draws the eye immediately which is not a positive effect given the very competant outline on the quitar player and mike. A difficult image to capture properly even with the best eqiupment and back lighting set up. If the light had been a little less intense or had a more blue cast to it rather than the hot white, it would have been perfect. |
