Besides the usual resize, crop, sharpen, adjust hue/saturation, I used magic lasso to isolate flowers with some leaves, Select tab to Inverse, then Filter tab to Artistic Effects where I chose Brush Stroke (I think. I tried so many, it might be Painter Dabs). Had to do same steps separately in between flower stems.

Beautiful blue grape hyacinths. Lovely. The leaves of mine have made their appearance, so I can look forward to the flowers when my springtime comes.
You have created quite a painterly backdrop for the flowers. It really helps pop them out.

OK, what did ya do to this one? I like how the special effect is confined mostly to the background. Nice!!!
