I had a dinner party at my house and this is the hand of one of my guests along with a glass of wine. Ran the image through Nik Efex Color Stylizer. It bleeds out some of the color and adds a sepia-ish tone to the image.

I wanted some sort of writing, and since I already have some ancient recipe cards ready to go in my filters collection, I used one that was written by my great aunt Boo.

I used my shallow water filter (feel free). I use it a lot and love it. Here it's scaled to fit the original image.

I erased both filters off of the finger tips and the sun on the glass. Ran the whole thing through Nik Efex Color Contrast to beef up the tones.

Yes i get the melancholy feel of a man sitting at a bar all alone, wondering what might have been.........

This is really cool...a family/friend piece, I was trying to ready what was over the hand and a recipe came to mind at first...great choice in combining these elements...you have a timeless picture now...

"Dear John, mix two cups of sugar, one cup sifted flour..."
:) A terrific creation, Alicia!

I get the same drift - someone drowning their sorrows. The text layering makes it feel that way even more.

Has a real poignancy about it - feels almost like someone at a bar drowning their sorrows. Nice use of layers and processing.

I think a pen or feather pen in hand would tie in better with the writing overlay. JMHO.

Gosh Alicia, this is really quite different. Really interesting use of your layers.

I like how part of his hand doesn't have any layering. Like his fingers are poking through it. I love writing!!! I see it is a recipe. Baking me a cake? LOL
