 Taken in an old cabin near where I live. This chair lives in the cabin. It had rained all day and the skies were dark. Taken late afternoon making the light even less. Taken from a tripod, mirror lock up, timed shutter release, cropped, adjusted white balance, increased clarity, tweaked white balance, curves, added saturation in reds/oranges, sharpened

I can almost see the painter setting up the easel and waiting for the model to arrive.

The theme, the connection of the title to the great master works, the rich and soft lighting, the simplicity of lines and composition, it all works together to provide an outstanding photograph.

Interesting setup that works well for the challenge. A couple of variations occur to me:

1) HDR - allow us to see all the detail and texture in this scene.
2) Black and white - The scene has interesting lighting and some nice textures to show off and I think monochrome would do this.
