 Another of my painting with light shots of orchids. I've been doing a lot of them lately and I'm trying to build a portfolio for the Redland Orchid Festival in which I will be showing my work.

edit to answer a question: The black background was achieved by using a black fabric backdrop and avoiding allowing any light from my flashlight to fall on the backdrop. Then in post processing I used levels to darken the background by sliding the left slider to the right. There are no real dark areas in the subject so this step in post processing had little to no effect on the flowers.
