 Trying to have the image stand out from the rest (I hope in a good way) I got the idea to have the banana melt into its background. I selected a piece of construction paper the same color.

While shooting with a few light sources, I tried to eliminate shadows on all but the ends.

In post processing I adjusted curves and put heavy blur into the sides of the banana, dodged the ends, lighted the shadows a lot, and lightened the overall image.
