This is a good shot, very strong impact! The simplicity and the truth of it really hits and disturbs. Natasha |

This brings back memories from Holloweens past. Good composition, but the white balance may be off a little. |

Definitely a good one for this challenge, but I would have liked to have seen a more dynamic composition. lhall |

Good concept and composition - I think the overall image would have greater impact if the apple seemed fresher to contrast with the razor blade, though (although I realise that if you take as many shots as I do this would involve having about a billion "backup" apples on hand). |

Ugh, our local school checks halloween treats for 'stuff' and found quite a bit of bad things. So I wonder if this is an urban legend, or a fact. Either way, Im giving all the benefit of the doubt this week, so the technical part...The focus and clarity are good, and the angle and framing/cropping are good as well. a very nice shot. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

Ohhhh yes...I've heard of it but never saw it, nor do I know of anyone who ever found anythng like it. Qualifies as a contender in this challenge. Nicely lit, and exposed, and focused. Good luck! Grayce aka Gracious :-) |

If that is a razor blade you are horrible anc cruel. Your title rather indicates I am correct about what is in the apple. I do not feel this is a legend or a superstition. I still think this is horrible but it is a quality shot photo wise so I can't honestly give it less than a 4 |

ouch!! challenge -- met technical -- nice sharp focus and just little reflection, good. like the color of the apple. would like to see the background in white to make the apple pop just a little more. composition -- also well done. -- gr8photos |

Interesting idea and seasonally acute but it's just little too creepy to me. |

Awesome job! I love the contrast of the roundness of the apple to the sharpness of the blade. |

I do not know that much how to vote this one. the challenge says 'well know legend' ... hard to juged that as well .... 7 for the quality of the shot and the intention even if it's not a 'well known urban legend' .. well maybe it is ... but not to me ;-) Lionel |

Technically, a well done photo--emotionally, it pushes all the buttons you wanted---in reality this happens all too often---Its a good reminder of how vulnerable our children are and what kind of sick people there are around the corner. |

Awww, that's terrible! Good job and idea. I wish there was a bit more focus on red side of the apple. Did you try this in B & W? DPz |

Nice and original interpretation of the challenge. The image itself is pretty sound as well. (Would have been better on a plain white background.) seasick - 7. |

The background color selection here is a good one, somehow it makes me feel all antiseptic and creepy - makes me imagine the environment where a creep might actually DO something like this. I wish though that the apple were "just-cut fresh"; I guess you worked with it for a little while. For me the dulled white is too close to the color of the background. Also, I think it would be more effective if the focus here were RAZOR sharp. 5, just-married |

Good idea, only I would suggest having the razor inbeded in the apple. here it looks like it is merely placed on a half slice. |

What really would have made this photo stand out more was to make the background a pure white, giving the apple more pop! Good job |

Now I got it! Thanks for explaining... 7 - KAOS I think your photo is well done, sharp etc., I like the bright red! - but if I'd stick an razor blade in an apple - wouldn't I do it the other way round? I have no clue, never thought about (and - here the razor blades look very different to yours...;o) |

Are you sure this is an urban legend? I've heard about this so many times that I'm sure the psychos would actually try it. |
