| This is one of those problematic images that reviewers don't like to see. Not because it's a technical mess or an artistic failure - in fact, exactly the opposite. In this case, the detailess white shoulder/blanket distracts from the image of Mom and Child which, frankly are stellar both in composition, mood and impact. The author handled all the other technical and artistic issues perfectly with that one single exception which negatively impacts the entire image. Still a worthy entry into the competition, if a little more time had been taken with the exposure, or patience waiting for a change in lighting, this would have been a sure ribbon contender. |
