I agree with some of the comments below: this is slightly overexposed through a long shutter speed. There is a rule of thumb, but I forget what it is (something like F4/.5 seconds, maybe 1 second for fireworks.)
That said, it is hard not to like pictures that show excitement like this. During the comeptition, despite the exposure, I voted this a 5.

Good idea for the challenge. Perhaps you were trying for some motion in this shot; to me, it would have been nice if you had used a faster shutter speed so you wouldn't have seen the drift of the firework. |
