| I like the subject and the intensity and texture of his face. But the crop (especially the left eye) bugs me, and I think the lighting might have worked better on the eye, instead of on the tacks in the front. |

| One of the problems when reviewing images in competitions is that every once in a while, an image pops up that is anethema to the reviewer. This reviewer wasn't all that impressed with this image the first time around, but to be truthful, it goes against the grain in a personal way. When viewed just for it's technical and artistsic merits, this is a great image with all aspects both technically and artistically well controlled. Having said that, this reviewer still wants to rate this as low as possible, but given that its technically an excellant example of staging a image and executing it perfectly, even though the image is repellant in ways one cannot express properly, this reviewer is rerating the image from it's original 6 to a 9. |
