 Woohoo - a 10th place and a first page! I'm thrilled!

Once again I followed the moon calendar and planned a full moon shot. I missed the best day for that, so I went out the next day. The problem is, on the first day after the full moon, the moon rises a bit later so by the time it's up in the sky it's completely dark outside. So it's impossible to get the perfect exposure, this was the best I could come up with. The longer exposure also explains why the moon looks slightly elliptical...

Here's one of my older full moon shots in the city, this is turning into a niche of mine :) One day I'll get the awesome full moon photo I've been trying for.

Great light and fantastic tones. I love the mood of the shot, and the detail in the clouds. It would be a contender for a ribbon I think if only it was level.. seems to tilt to one side.

With the whites right on the edge, the dramatic and detailed sky, clear crisp imagery demonstrating a knowledge of how light affects an image - a worthy entry into the challenge and so far above the average entry in this challenge it's in a whole other class. A good demonstration of how lighting can be used to create a "noir" effect - it matches the challenge in every respect because both the subject and the lighting is used in a creative fashion to capture a mood piece that is outstanding. Sometimes images can tell stories and this image sparks the imagination which is what lighting is all about. Well done.

The moon is the piece de resistance. I wish the taxi in the lower left were not cut in half. Beautiful tones. It might be an optical illusion, but it feels slightly tilted to the right.
