Image was taken late in the evening and I was trying for a motion type shot with the train moving through the image.

A polarized filter was used to bring out the colors and to darken the image.

1.) Image was cropped
2.) Image was converted to B/W
3.) Image Levels were adjusted slightly
4.) Image Brightness was reduced by 5%

A terrific demonstration of how to capture motion and detail at the same time. A nearly perfect conversion to black and white, the image is strong, purposeful and provocative causing the viewer to look closely at the image and discover more detail. A well thought out image with a couple of minor flaws that only an extremely picky reviewer would even think of looking for. A very worthy ribbon contender. Well done.

Nice evening light and long shadows.

Nice shot, maybe a lower angle to hide the powerlines JMO!

I like this a lot, the smooth texture of everything, the shadow of the xing sign on the train, the blur - my only recommendation is to move the xing sign out from the exact middle of your pic since I don't think there's enough symmetry for that to work here.
