Point well taken, sanandan! My main problem was that I had finished editing and sharpening the original before I decided to resize for DPC. After resizing, I sharpened the whole image because it seemed a bit blurry. I should have turned down the USM settings, I think.

very nice image.. but I guess you are getting carried away with the sharpning tool..use it, but without blowing the highlights..
