Nice image and for the record I think the DQ was not justified! To me the original image looks to be intact and no more shape has been created, when the original color becomes the shape we would need to DQ a lot more images. Weak case by SC at best and in my opinion a bad and inconsistent use of the rules. |

This is an EXCELLENT take on the challenge. In my opinion you were well within the rules.
So if there was a challege called "Blue Strip" and it was Advanced Rules....and I desaturated the sky except for one blue strip...I would get a DQ?
These types of judgement calls are one reason I haven't forked over another $25 to the site.

Well done! I would have used a different hand though, the thumb is too squat/stubby. Sorry, but want the image to be most visually appealing it can be and the hand IS what we're focusing on. |

This is a really nice shot. I wish the black and white part near the waterfall was just a bit more clear but very very well done nonetheless. |

A very creative look at colored pencils - the image meets the subject matter dead on with subtle, yet detailed effect. A terrific demonstration of the creative process in meeting the challenge the use of grayscale and color is outstanding. Should be a sure bet to win a ribbon or place high as a top twenty image. A couple of minor detail problems not worth mentioning because they don't appear until you really get a critical eye and examine the image closely. Well done. |

Lovely editing, the lighting on the hand is a bit harsh. |
