Well hello Marty, what a handsome young man you have become.

I did bump this to 6 before the challenge ended. Well done. Deserved to place higher than it did imo though.

Very nicely composed portrait, with a whole slew of textures. Well done.

Lovely textures in the wood and stone wall, the person is distracting for me. Without him, it would have been a very strong texture photo (hope he won't be offended).

As a portrait shot I actually really like this, and I see a few of elements in the photo that have interesting textures. Unfortunately though it really doesn't communicate the theme to me as dramatically as other photos in the challenge and as a result gets a slightly lower score from me.

I think this would have been a stronger "texture" image without the guy in it. His dark jacket takes away from all the great texture going on behind him. The horizontal and vertical wood on the left and the spotted wall on the right are awesome. It's well exposed (except for the dark hole of the jacket). It's interesting and relevant. I would crop just a little off the top though with the angle of the gate on the top left and the top of the wall on the right. 5

A good effort, but the subject leads the eye away from the pleasing textures and interesting details of the stone wall and wood. A good black and white conversion.
