 The weather report had forecast cloudy weather with sun and no wind for Saturday the 4th so I decided to take the train to Amsterdam to get some shots for the postcard challenge.(100 kilometer journey) The weather bureau had it wrong again. The sun never showed up and the sky remained leaden. Also there was a stiff breeze so the hope I had of capturing some great reflections in the water vaporized. Sometimes those ideal conditions just remain a pipe dream. Still, I hope this entry scores above a six.
I did get in some other nice shots too and it was difficult to decide which one to enter. I had to narrow it down to 5 shots out of which I chose this one.

This captures Amsterdam exactly as I remember it! Those very distinctive buildings running down either side of the waterways. Shame about the overcast sky, but not much you could do about that!

The image has an HDR enhanced feel to it, but it's not HDR - it's just a crisp enjoyable image. The bottom could have a better crop, but the sense of space is very enjoyable and pleasing to the eye. The font is simple and efficient and it's placement is acceptable.
