Not much done to this, crop photomatix and noise ninja basically I love the fisheye lens especially in a place like the Natural History Museum in London, crazy shit.

est score - 6.5
dream score - the 7+ I don't really think images score so high nowadays at DPC so a 7 is an honour

post challenge - Well many thanks for a new PB and the favs/comments, I guess I really put my foot in my mouth this time with my 'so called' est-score.

Thanks for the fantastic blue in a free study.

Hey Marac! I'm not a big fan of HDR (maybe because I turn out rubbish) but this is just WOW! well worth the blue and, imho one of your better works. and, look at the curves both in the image and voting, I don't think I've seen another image with 5 being the lowest vote though am sure there are some out there?

There has been mention of no people in the shot but I agree with those that prefer people to give life to the image and would like you to visit sometime with tripod (if allowed) and use a longer shutter to get tome motion blur inn the peeps.

I don't click the fav button often but feel compelled to with this shot sir!

Beautiful work with this lens, Marac. Fascinating photograph! Just saw your comment about taking it without people... my opinion only is that it works so much better WITH people in it. Without them, I suspect it would still be fascinating, but sterile, if that makes sense. I think they'd like this just as it is.

woohooo! How to make a great photo of what is normally seen as a very staid place. this would make a great poster to put up in schools to encourage kids to visit.

LOVE IT!!!!! :-)

What an awesome image. I love the fish-eye. Would be cool to see some of your out-takes; I imagine that you took a bazillion different angles in that place! Congrats on the PB, and the FS Blue!! You can take the rest of the year off now. Please. ;O)

I am overwhelmed by your comments thank you so much, I am absolutely bowled over and as suggested by simms I will send this over to the museum and ask if I can re-shoot it when there are no tourists about... well, I might just take 1 person along and plce them in the frame somewhere extremely interesting.

Thanks again for all your kind words and the favs.

This is an extraordinarily atypical FS winner. I'm in awe of it, both as an immensely engaging image and as an absolute stereotype-beater as far as ribbons go. Good on ya! And you dang near bookended it in Fauna, didn't ya?

This is the most extraordinary use of a fisheye lens! The effect is surreal, almost like a fairy tale image, as in the "Gormenghast" trilogy. Congrats on a an excellent photo!

I didn't vote in this challenge but this definately would have been one of my top picks to ribbon. What an amazing image - and the title is perfect....not sure if you were referencing the movie Labyrinth - but that is the first thing I thought of when viewing this shot.

Well done! It reminds me of the lithographs done by one of my favorite artists, M.C. Escher, titled "relativity".

I like the minimal Red, but strong in emphasis. The eye is carried in a circular path, to the first red-nova, then, to the next two red-sweaters, seemingly, strategically placed. Kind of like "Connect the red dots" to arrive at the masses below.
