Pongo pygmaeus
Melbourne Zoo, Australia

I was listening to Comfortably Numb. Zoo animals must be going slowly mad, to exist so removed from their natural habitats and in a state of captivity. This must be especially the case for those animals that research has shown to be capable of higher-level thinking and emotions.

This is really good, I am not sure why it wasn't much higher in the standings, looking forward to more entries from you. Welcome to DPC. :)

Amazing how the title can influence the feel of an image. Good choice to make it B&W. Can't decide if I want to see the rest of the mouth or not, but this works too.

So sad with his eyes looking down like that. I love your crop here and I feel that the composition and processing really spotlight his sad face. I think it's a great capture. 10

The crop across the mouth is strange to me.

I love the feel of this. Wish the lower part of his face weren't cut off.
