| Abstract challenges are the toughest to enter, everyone has their own thoughts on what is abstract and what is not. The best way to get better scores in any challenge is to make sure there is no doubt you have captured the idea of the challenge that the majority of the voters will likely follow, in this case the item should be very abstract and not easily identifiable. Overall this shot is too clear and not real abstract which clearly affected the score. The exposure and focus are good but the subject is somewhat boring and centered with too much negative space on the sides for my taste. Good luck in future challenges. |

| I've been using the definition: "Of, relating to, or being a style of art in which natural objects are not represented realistically." With this in mind, it doesn't seem abstract, IMO. |

| Nice work, I don't think the lava is enough to make it interesting as an abstract piece. |

| inside the lamp the stuff is abstract and it's moving but, imho, this is not an abstract picture. Of course this could be debatable. |

| Another DNMC, but an oobie take that I can overlook (as with the other similar shot in this challenge). Like the focus ona single lamp, but think you need to come in closer and wait for that big blob in the middle to break into several smaller ones, and adjust exposure to avoid blowing the highlights out. Lighting is too harsh; needs something external to soften it. White balance needs to be adjusted to remove the green cast, and next time flip the lamp around sound the ding on the base isn't showing. |

| I think you would have done better to give it a longer shutter speed so we could really see the motion of the lava |

| There is motion in the lava but you really can't class it as abstract. |
