My son, 12 year old Högni Freyr, doing homework on Sunday, writing a famous icelandic poet in his book. I tried to have a very shallow DoF to focus on the language, the main subject of the image.
Lightroom: General grayscale, tone levels, black, cropped and then exported to PS for more levels, curves and finally resize, sharpen in USM, frame and save for the web.

| I like the lighting in this photo, and the composition. Maybe a little more of his head (just so the border gets a little further from his eyes) would have helped, but apart from that, I like the overall effect you have created |

| the pic would have probably worked better if the focus was on the book and not on the kid. The kid in this picture is irrelevant, the homework is the subject and would have conveyed a clearer message. |
