This has some nice textures and indeed a dreamy quality to the background. I question the tail-in-the-face, it often seems more impressive when the animal is facing the camera instead of moving away. |

the whispy out of focus textures, the bright sunlight, and the colors do give this a dream-like quality. Neat photo! |

It seems like you may have over-sharpened this, to the point that the background now has grain, and the hair is starting to alias |

Excellent picture, however the out of focus area in the foreground is a little bit distracting, a crop reducing that area would be very better IMHO. |

I'm not a horse guy, even though I was raised in Montana. But this is terrific. The unusual point of view is terrific. Your mastery of composition, focus, DOF, color and contrast are virtually perfect. Among best in class! |

The head and background are great but I may have cropped this one so only the very top of the back was visible. |

Highlights are a blown but it works with the image title. The noise is distracting and I wish the focus was a bit softer to give a more ephemeral feel. |

It certainly has a dreamlike feel to it, but the background seems a bit grainy. Don't know if that was intentional. 6. |

I actually like the shot a lot. However, I think the bright green swoopy plant on the right is distracting--I'd burn it a little, or take the saturation down or something. the light color of the horse is so soft, it makes the green glow. (which actually works for the shorter grasses/plants) |

you dream of a horse's rump?
I wonder how this would look if you cropped up to be square or even 4:3, so as to exclude enough of the horse's rump that it was not immediately recognizable/prominent.
I'm ignoring the graininess and purple fringing although I must say that a layer of gaussian blur would have done wonders for this pic, especially with the really strong highlights. |

Love the pov. Great eye. Incredible detail with the eye and eyelashes (who knew?!). Just to nit, the horizontal green leaf looks like it's poking his eye. Might have cloned that out :-) |

The background is a little distracting because of the leaves. Maybe a better bokeh would be great! I really like the light and the choice for this beatiful horse, but i would like to see it from another perspective. |
