thank you for everyone who liked it or gave helpful feedback, but i admittingly am starting to become disillusioned with sp challenge because my favorites did not do well and almost getting last place is a bit of an insult...for those of you who did well congrats

This is very well done... almost abstract... very artsy.

Not voting.

Nice capture.
03/17/2009 07:17:47 AM
Decent shot of what I am assuming is an old tractor. The background is busy though, and competes for attention.
03/17/2009 07:01:05 AM
Nice DOF, I like the colors, but the subject doesn't seem real sharp to me.

The background here is a bit distracting, bit I do like the shapes in the delapidated equipment.
03/16/2009 10:58:28 AM
Good simple shot. Better lighting would elp increase the score.

too haphazard. i'm sure there's something here that makes this image speak to you, but i'm not hearing it or seeing it.
03/15/2009 05:27:55 PM
Looks like its been a while. Nice old car? truck?
03/15/2009 06:04:47 AM
Old and abandoned, just the thing photographers like to find.
03/15/2009 02:34:28 AM
Interesting looking image. Would have liked to see it from a bit further back showing more of what remains of the old car.

lacks the wow factor, 5

cool old find
03/14/2009 04:26:32 PM
Intersting.
03/14/2009 02:19:45 PM
A real sense of abandonment here. Love the geometry of the stick and the wheel.

winter light is so hard to work with, I think a little fill flash would have really made this subject pop

A classic shot done well.

Great old structure. Lovely dark and simple green colors.

Great find, but I feel like the camera's focus is off and the fascinating broken machinery is too hard to distinguish due to its darkness and the many cluttering elements.
03/13/2009 06:58:53 PM
not a lot to hold my interest
03/13/2009 05:18:23 PM
the picture seems a little jumbled. and the matter in the foreground is a little dark- it'd be nice to see some detail in the rust

I think it might need a few days in the shop!!

Nioce job - are those hay bales in the background?

03/13/2009 12:14:03 PM
There is some rather bad pixellation going on here which detracts from this image in my opinion.

Call the RAC! Nice shot would do well in Remember Those.

A bit too busy in that I'm not sure what I'm supposed to concentrate on

reminds me of the midwest farms where they keep everything.

The lighting is so flat, I almost didn't notice the road in the background through the bales of hay. This is a good subject and it might be fun for you to visit it again in the late afternoon on a sunny day.

Oh, I really like this...the abandoned truck...bails of hay...it is just a tad dark...is all

nicely matched colors, but that might be coincidence.

Its not really doing much for me. Maybe the whole vehicle would have been better.

not diggin the crop. the stick in the middle draws my eye first then runs it up to the right and i loose the wheel

You really have captured the "broken down" feeling. Weeds in the foreground and shallow depth of field are effective at creating the sense of old.
