 This is the Darby River running through Wilsons Promontory in Victoria (which is the southernmost part of Mainland Australia). Wilsons Promontory (known as 'The Prom' to most Victorians) covers over 50,000 hectares, and is a wonderful place to hike and camp. In my opinion, it's one of the coolest places in Australia, a prime example of some God's beautiful creation in Oz (Aus).

This was taken in January 2009, just a few weeks before bushfires devastated Victoria (including Wilson's Promontory). More than 200 people died in the fires, most of them North-east of Melbourne, and thousands have been left homeless. More than half of Wilsons Prom is contained in the burn area and the fires have been burning there for more than a month.

The Prom must be a regional term since it's a highschool dance where I'm from. So... the title makes no sense to me... but,

It's a good leading line through the image. It just needs some "POP!" to make it a bit more exciting for the voting here, I fear.

My eye travels along the valley floor with the meandering stream. I like how the trees frame the shot on either end.
