Makes you wonder what she(?) is thinking. Nice tones and lighting.

The mouth expression makes this a unique shot. I like the light on the face.

Nice emotive portraiture!

Looks mischevious, great lighting, I think if they eyes were a bit sharper it would pop more.

very nice lighting
03/15/2009 02:41:19 PM
Good subject, nice presentation
03/15/2009 10:26:45 AM
The eyes would be so intense with eye contact.
03/15/2009 07:55:14 AM
A nice portrait but a bit soft on the face. It seems your focus is on the hand instead which is a shame.
03/15/2009 06:10:12 AM
Lovely looking portrait with nice colors and beautiful eyes.
03/15/2009 05:26:29 AM
Great eyes.
03/15/2009 03:08:59 AM
the focus is wrong, should be at her eyes instead off her hand- good portrait nevertheless
03/15/2009 02:22:20 AM
shame of the sharpness.. could be real nice
;) brano

It seems just a hair soft on the face (but her hand is focused). Maybe a slight bit of motion blur?
03/14/2009 07:59:29 PM
stunning portrait
03/14/2009 06:37:29 PM
love the crop
03/14/2009 12:41:41 AM
excellent potrait, 7
03/13/2009 07:48:20 PM
maybe my eyes are bad, but it looks like the knuckles are in better focus than the eyes... very interesting expression and great color!
03/13/2009 01:41:13 PM
Wonderful eyes
03/13/2009 01:09:53 PM
I wish the eyes were as sharp and clear as the hand.
03/13/2009 12:59:45 PM
He has incredible eyes. Good portrait.
03/13/2009 12:29:17 PM
excellent focus and tones
03/13/2009 11:53:48 AM
A thousand thoughts are running through her head...at once!
03/13/2009 09:34:31 AM
Nice portrait
03/13/2009 08:40:15 AM
The scar, the sweat, up turned mouth that shows no mirth, hands and eyes that look out of place on a young face. Stories abound.
03/13/2009 02:35:59 AM
Skin texture on the hand is perfect. would have liked to see that focus on the face.
03/12/2009 03:41:05 PM
Very nice portrait, I like the "thoughts" captured here.
03/12/2009 03:08:09 PM
Like the crop and expression in this
03/12/2009 03:01:05 PM
would have liked to see a little better focus on the eyes but thats just my opinion. good job.
03/12/2009 02:24:49 PM
Love the tight crop to focus your eye on her essential nature.
03/12/2009 02:14:53 PM
It looks like you were shooting with a shallow depth of field, which is normally nice for portraits. However, your focal plan missed the eyes her, thus leaving them soft.
03/12/2009 09:43:05 AM
Looks like the hand is in focus, but not the face.
03/11/2009 05:11:36 PM

As she stood there contemplating whether to join them or not, her hand came up to touch her chin, in an almost unconscious gesture. She saw them there, playing, laughing, having such fun, but still she hesitated. She had never been one to just join. Always she had hesitated. Always she felt a pang in the depths of her stomach, a reluctance, an anxiety. What would they think of her? What if she did something wrong? What if they laughed at her?

So the children played, and so she continued to stand on the sidelines, but one of them turned to her then, and smiled, and she smiled back, and he waved at her to join them, and shyly, slowly, she did.

Great emotion and well shot...just wished the eyes were a little bit more in focus. That would have given the shot even more emotion and given an overall "Wow" factor.
