Sometimes, smoking can look sexy (I hate to say it) but this is not one of those times.
03/16/2009 06:10:51 PM
I love how the light catches the smoke here. It is kind of surreal.
03/16/2009 02:37:38 PM
Does not seem to be a likely winner, if only because of the smoke, but it does breathe "real", "fresh", "life". Natural light is also beautifully morning-ish. Personally, I dont mind the smoke, but less of it would work better here, IMHO.

Wow... looks like a fire-breathing dragon! Cool.

personally...since I do not smoke this does not appeal to me...but given that...your colors are just a tad dark
03/16/2009 09:55:27 AM
Brrr, it looks so cold. Good job making us see how cold it is.
03/16/2009 09:10:08 AM
Good shot. Is that a combination of smoke and hot air meeting cold air?
03/16/2009 08:16:32 AM

cool capture

Well captured and presented. But my mother died of emphysema as a rsult of her smoking so I have a very very hard time giving this more than a 1.
03/15/2009 05:11:15 PM
and...
03/15/2009 07:59:17 AM
Good action, good light.
03/15/2009 07:55:34 AM
i like the smoke you have captured. looks nice with the backlight. other then that this isnt really grabbing me as much as i might have liked
03/15/2009 07:25:13 AM
nice profile image
03/15/2009 05:16:58 AM
the harsh sunlight is u enemy here
03/15/2009 03:26:26 AM
Wow! That must be a big joint he is smoking there. Smoking is bad for your health.
03/14/2009 08:05:53 PM
The light and smoke makes him look like a dragon.
03/14/2009 06:23:35 PM
Nice capture of smoke.
03/14/2009 06:22:32 PM
good concept, too bad you have that nose under his chin. But then post processing can take care of that.
03/14/2009 04:09:18 PM
What is the idea here?
03/14/2009 02:10:02 PM
filthy habit but a really good shot, I like it.
03/14/2009 11:42:24 AM
Good backlighting.
03/14/2009 07:17:05 AM
Nice capture.
03/13/2009 11:44:34 PM
Great use of the light in this
03/13/2009 03:16:00 PM
I find that with the light on the smoke, it is overexposed, and doesnt leave any details.
03/13/2009 09:42:01 AM
Good lighting, the smoke is really prominent, like he's breathing fire.
03/13/2009 09:32:59 AM
Very nicely backlit!
03/13/2009 07:19:35 AM
technically sound and clear
03/13/2009 03:45:32 AM
interesting lighting in this
03/12/2009 10:17:37 AM
Interesting.
03/12/2009 09:55:38 AM
the smoke is missing details, it would need some contrast.
03/12/2009 09:19:13 AM
Looks like he has dragons breath.
03/12/2009 07:23:34 AM
That is a lot of smoke! I wish there was a little less light behind the smoke, so that one could see a bit of detail through it or in it. I also wonder if this image wouldn't work beautifully in B&W. It is the kind of image that sometimes lends itself for stylized B&W presentations. Good catch!
03/12/2009 07:23:11 AM
Good use of the backlighting
03/12/2009 07:05:15 AM
Nice capture, the backlighting works great for the guy, although the smoke is overexposed.
03/11/2009 03:57:23 PM
The person is behind is a big distraction. It is tough to process but I wish there were more details in the smoke exhaled.
03/11/2009 09:04:18 AM
Thank you for providing me with something different, for that I added 2 to your score
03/11/2009 06:36:13 AM
the smoke is over exposed, which makes it look quite unnatural, also the person standing behind is a little distracting.
03/11/2009 05:42:02 AM
having seen this, anybody will believe smoking harms your health. I like the expression of the boy (?) in the background...hmmph
03/11/2009 04:44:33 AM
An excellent example of three effective ways of capturing smoke. Doesn't have any emotional impact for me though.
03/11/2009 04:29:37 AM
not much to hold interest
03/11/2009 04:20:08 AM
Nice candid.
03/11/2009 02:37:10 AM
Smoke looks a little overexposed but a difficult shot well taken.
