This was among a few taken on the quayside of lobster pots, ropes, and other fishing items. I am experimenting with split toning in lightroom at the moment, and this is one of my favourites.

Lobster fishing? I like the colour in this shot.
03/17/2009 06:23:20 AM
This is an interesting shot, it feels like a movie set to me.

03/15/2009 05:43:41 PM
Nice muted tones and good detail.
03/15/2009 05:42:43 PM
Interesting how the mundane can become artlike ... well done
03/15/2009 06:13:39 AM
Nice tones and textures, those traps are interesting, they look like lobster traps but different from the ones I see around here.
03/15/2009 05:40:08 AM
nice balance
03/15/2009 02:08:05 AM
interesting place but not the luckiest realization , its a bit shady

;D brano

Love the textures. The sepia works.
03/14/2009 05:00:16 PM
Simple yet elegant. Really nice work.
03/14/2009 11:28:27 AM
Interesting subject. Would have liked the baskets to pop just a bit.

I wonder what a close up of the lobster traps (??) would be like...very strong texture...really like your tones and colors
03/13/2009 11:38:15 PM
Lovely looking old place and, although I can't see the sea here, it's just if I can hear it behind the wall.
03/13/2009 10:22:39 PM
My first thought upon this popping up was the story about the little Dutch boy with his finger in the dike. I think those are lobster traps against the wall?
03/13/2009 08:31:20 PM
I like the detail and repitition of the crab traps.
03/13/2009 08:11:02 PM
Interesting shapes and textures. Good perspective. 8
03/13/2009 04:09:15 PM
intersting scene
03/13/2009 03:34:18 PM
I think the shot could have been from a slightly lower angle - putting the top of the wall a little higher up in the left corner where it leaves the frame.
03/13/2009 03:17:13 PM
It's years since I've been to Newquay, great place
03/13/2009 11:15:43 AM
Nice comp! is that a rock pipit I see perched on the wall :-)
03/13/2009 10:37:17 AM
Anything in those pots?
03/13/2009 09:55:18 AM
just bit flat, the sky is a bit of a distraction
03/12/2009 05:45:09 PM
If you didn't selevtive desat this, that is one dull wall - I like the contrast against the sky. Those trap(?) are very interesting and your angled composition give a dynamic feel. Might not be your typical DPC crowd pleaser, but I like it a lot.
03/12/2009 05:27:05 PM
good simple subject
03/12/2009 05:17:25 PM
Like the petina look of this shot. As if it's been taken a long time ago. Only nitpick of mine is that green bit in the sky. Great job with the composition, the lines look great. (no vote)
03/12/2009 04:15:40 PM
Nice balanced composition
03/12/2009 01:07:11 PM
Simple and good shot. Nice angle.
03/12/2009 12:04:31 PM
great post processing
03/12/2009 10:04:35 AM
An interesting photograph with a very strong composition. The lamp post brings this image together.
03/12/2009 09:37:54 AM
The tones are beautiful..
03/12/2009 09:12:54 AM
Nice job with the perspective and composition.
03/12/2009 08:45:42 AM
I like the tone
03/12/2009 07:41:46 AM
great composition, very nice shot
03/12/2009 07:31:16 AM
I like the diagonal and the ominous looking clouds.
03/12/2009 04:02:20 AM
nice texture in the wall and are those lobster traps, I like the contrast between the sky and the wall
03/12/2009 02:39:30 AM
Nice contrast between the wall and the sky.. I'm not getting a sense of a harbour besides the traps though. What is this photo trying to convey?

Very nice feel to this shot. FYI There is a very similiar harbour to this in Mousehole!
03/11/2009 11:26:02 PM
Be great if they were full of crays! Nice take.
03/11/2009 01:07:11 PM
love this one! the cages are almost camouflaged. love your PP one of my favs
03/11/2009 12:45:08 PM
Nice detail and tones. I think I would have cloned out that bit of brown in the sky but its still nice.
03/11/2009 11:39:07 AM
Nice use of a very strong diagonal element and I like the wee bird sitting on the wall.
03/11/2009 06:36:10 AM
Simple and appealing. The bird adds a tiny spot of interest which plays to the 'hidden gem' idea.
03/11/2009 06:15:24 AM
Lovely scene. Nice find.
03/11/2009 06:01:35 AM
nice diagonal
03/11/2009 02:48:31 AM
Interesting shot. There is loads o potential for a great leading line here with the wall but the perspective doesn't quite allow for that impact to be realised. Good luck: 6.
