This is an M21 Blackbird, an early version of the SR-22 Blackbird

Thanks for the comments about the white numbers--being a plane buff, they are part of the charm for me, but I could see how this image might be stronger without them. Will give it a try :-)

The lighting on this seems a little off to me, perhaps it's just not diffused enough for my tastes, I'm having trouble putting my finger on it.

Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. This close-up of a mode of transportation becomes a study in shapes, textures, color and detail. Tis almost abstract when you get closer to show off the details. Interesting shapes, lines and curves dominate the scene. You have the good sharp details of the rivets. There are bold contrasts in color with the blacks/blues popping off of the mottled yellowish tones. For an abstract it is bold and clean in presentation.

Ah! This is one of two shots in this challenge that I think is both abstract and recognizable at the same time, and I love it when that happens. Great color, too. I'm torn as to whether I like it better with or without the white lettering.

This is nice. I'm a flier & airplane buff myself & try as I might I can't figure out what aircraft this is. It's a tailplane detail I guess, but it actually puts me in mind of something maritime instead. Anyway, it's a piece of art; both the structure & your photograph of it. 7.

Interesting and unique take on a plane photo. This would look cool in a collection of different shots of the same plane... almost like a deconstructed portrait of the plane itself.
