The tree gets kinda lost because of the dark clouds behind it. Perhaps try cropping it between the two dark clouds on the bottom right. It gets rid of a lot of the darkness on the right and helps the tree get a little more prominence. I love the clouds though--tremendous sky!

Hmmm... At first I thought the ground was a border and it was uneven... The sky is gorgeous... but something seems lacking to me. I hope it's not just the lack of a border to rein in the sky... That would be too simple. Yes?

I like the single tree and the golden sky; comp works well also. However, it seems as if those really dark clouds all calling for attention, pulling my eye from the tree.

that stood tall and strong all alone against the huge sky. And as the sun rose every morning, the tree greeted it with outstretched branches in expectation of another day of adventure. "Oh, when will my time come?" the tree would ask. "Patience," the sky would answer. "Adventure is not always pleasant or convenient, but it comes to all whether they wish it or not."

This doesnt really do much for me. I like the tree but not that it was cut off at the base. The sky is dramatic but not really popping out to me.

Nice subject, photo a bit noisy and out of focus, i might have waited ( if i had teh patience ) for a clearing in the clouds to frame the tree
