Dramatic lighting in this portrait although I feel there's too much of your son's face lost in the black shadows and a full face portrait would be better. Only one eye and a nose doesn't look too good.

I'm not sure about the highlights, a little over sharpened? or is that light reflection off oil (?). Other wise a very nice image
