This picture is just amazing... The boat dock just seems out of place, which is what makes it just pop out of the picture. The blue in the front of it draws my eye towards that point and got me to look deeper into that area.
Very well done!

| Great colors! I like how the trees are still green instead of being so dark that they look black. And I like that little pop of blue on the building. The only thing that is throwing me off though, is that the reflection of the clouds doesn't seem to match up to the actual clouds. |

| on first vote, I gave this a 9. but I think I'll bump up. the reflection gives it a perfect symmetry that works really well here. the colors are fantastic, and the touch of blue in the middle is a nice offset to the rest of the palette. great shot. 10 |

| A lot of drams is the sky and the reflection. Some will argue the composistion isn't perfect, but any other composistion would have lost the reflection of the sky or the water. Love the way the diagonal lines draw the eye to the mountain bathed in the setting sun. The cabin adds an extra element of interest, but secondary to the sky, water, and mountains. |

| The saturated blue in the boathouse door really pulls the eyes to the center of this scene. Love the slowly lowering rhythm of the peaks across the frame with the matching flames in the sky and smooth water. Beautiful. |

| WOW .. an amazing scene . the still water with the reflection so nearly perfect that reversed it would almost be indistinguishable from the 'real' view .. almost, but not quite .. i actually like the way the reflection is just slightly wavery rather than a perfect mirror image .. the colours are stunning, the composition excellent .. wot a brilliant place to be just before sunrise and how spectacular .. :) |

And I am sure it was even better to experience it and actually be there:-) This is a very scenic shot worthy of a calendar shot or a print hanging on the wall. Gorgeous colors throughout this composition. Love the early morning sky, the snow-capped mountains and the still lake with the lovely reflections. |

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... out of (currently) 1124 images, I gave 30 of them a 9. Your image was one of those 30.
I love the definition in this shot (HDR?). The colouring is lovely, and the composition really suits the scene, the sweep of trees along the coastline echoing the sweeping line of the mountains. A top 5% finish by my reckoning.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |
