Someone asked about the lighting for this image, so I thought I might just note that it was taken in a kitchen under a bright light just over the stove, candid. It was actually quite bright in the kitchen, but he was directly under the light, making the rest of the image very dark.

I personally love the mood here!

...Now I just need to go find out who Henry Fonda is... Thanks!

Nice lighting in this portrait. There's too much dead black space on the left. I would have cropped that away to just before where his shoulder becomes visible.

Wonderful lighting and composition. A bit more light on his actual eyes would enhance, though, I think.

I'd say use a portrait crop as the negative space isn't really helping

IMO I would have crop the left side a little bit. Nice shot!

Jack Nicholson. Not someone you'd want to mess with lightly.

a masterful portrait...more than a face you have captured a sense of the person, and the lighting is used with the touch of an artist...

I am not normally a fan of low key portraits but this one is so well done, I have to give it best in class. You've not only shown us an interesting face, you have given us an interesting "person" with a real personality and his own emotional payload.

good composition and interesting lighting style, the blown light on his forehead could have been avoided with a softer light source

Superb. Lots of Henry Fonda, which is apt because it's a wonderfully theatrical portrait in terms of lighting, positioning and his orientation not for the camera, but for some unseen, probably imaginary audience. 8.
