Taken outdoors in Rexburg, Idaho as part of a motion study for a school assignment. I was walking through a park and got permission to take some pictures of brothers playing on a swing-set. I got a chance to snap a few pictures before they got off and played in the sand. This, I think, was one of the more interesting captures and I love the expression on his face.

Fun photograph looks like he is having a great time. You did a great job keeping the subject focused during movement. I wish the photo could have been captured without the bar in the way; a bit distracting.

Cute shot. Like the angle you caught this. Plus the swing set generates a natrual frame. DoF is good, prevents the BG from being destracting and he's well lit. Nicely done.

03/13/2009 01:10:37 PM
He's so cute! But he does have a little mischievous twinkle to his eye :-) At first I didn't know if I liked the part of the swingset in the foreground, but I think it gives perspective as to how high he is really swinging! He does look like he is having fun!

you certainly pushed the button at the right moment. he looks like he's having fun.
03/12/2009 01:54:38 PM
Very interesting perspective. I also like the use of the swing frame and the swing chains as leading lines. I do, however, think that the lighting on the frame itself is too harsh for the portrait. It serves as more of a distraction than an interesting element to me.
03/12/2009 05:52:26 AM
He looks like he is having a blast.
03/12/2009 12:37:11 AM
As a parent I recognise the value in a shot like this - nicely done. I hope you have a copy on your wall.

Precious. I love the natural frame. :)
03/11/2009 05:09:52 PM
Oh gosh. This would be such a GREAT shot without that metal frame. He has such glee on his face, and you caught him at the perfect angle.
03/11/2009 02:07:20 PM
a smiling child is so precious, nice action shot
03/11/2009 11:38:16 AM
great moment, a little too tight, but that's just my opinion
03/11/2009 10:37:22 AM
weeeeee, oh to be a child again...great colors wonderful focus really like the bokeh in the background
03/11/2009 09:29:20 AM
I couldn't agree more!
03/11/2009 07:03:15 AM
nice framing
03/11/2009 04:08:22 AM
Oversharpened, blown out and purple fringing.

These are probably all a result of technical limitations, so I'm specifically ignoring those factors and looking at what you got in spite of them.

And what you got was a beautiful moment captured at just the right moment, from just the right angle and enhanced by the natural framing and BG.
