Nice dark brooding sky... the road does seem to lighten up... but then descends into darkness at the end. Nice shot.

The graininess in the clouds catches my eye first. Would liked to have seen all the road in sunshine for a bit more impact. Nice take all the same.

For the title, it doesn't work for me.....more like the road to perdition.
For enlightenment, a sunrise or sunset would have worked better than the storm.
On the other hand i like the vanishing point and the subdued colors.

I like the leading line from the road and the shadows the trees cast gives a kinda spooky feel
