Hmmm... I think I know what you were going for with this but you just missed the mark and I think this would help (or patronise):

When shooting fireworks with a long exposre (3 secs +), try putting your hand over the lens as the firework explodes and then removing it when the trails are in the sky. This way you don't get the big white glare in the middle (which is uber distracting) and still get the look and character of the fireworks.

Actually, I think this is a pic with a short exposure judging by the lack of motion in the water but still, it may help. I also think that the fireworks are too far to the left, it pulls my eye there and does nothing with it as there is nothing surrounding them. The right side is bare of anything and doesn't really serve a purpose to the composition of the picture, maybe if this pic was all fireworks or all water it would have a clearer purpose.

A decent fireworks shot for sure, and the BG sky is nice, but there have been stronger entries here that you'll get compared to.

Unfortunate that the bursts are overexposed due to the long exposure. Could try to recover some detail in post processing.

I love sound you can feel and I can almost feel the boom from here. Every 4th of July we watch fireworks from our boat and this takes me back to the scene. Thanks for the memories.

Before I took any firework shots myself, I thought they would be easy. Then I tried it. They were hard. You did a nice job, and I can appreciate it more after having tried it myself :)

Nice skyline. The firework is blown out. A longer exposure with lower ASA or higher f-stop may have helped that a lot. Nice title.
