 This is the Summer farm house owned by Governor Dongan, a British loyalist. He used to live here during the Summer time in the early 1700s before mortgaging it to members of his family right before the revolutionary war. Its been home to many families and now sits in a landmarked district under the title "Christopher House" I have plenty of photos of this place in my portfolio, and here is an out take.



POST PROCESS:

I wish I never shot in JPEG, did lots of editing to this and it lost some detail when I saved for the web. Its tone-mapped from 3 JPEGs, it came out too gray and I increased the Black clip a bit since I was originally going to go black and white but changed my mind last second because there wasn't enough black in this. Most of the editing besides the HDR convert went towards the colors, I really played around with different hues, bringing out the sun's glow on the trees. After that I just boosted some contrast and dodged some highlights in the rocks.

The fence leaves a barrier from viewing the rest of the scene.

I think a slightly higher point of view so that the building was not obscured by the fence would have made a huge difference and would add depth and perspective to this shot.
