 one of the first shots i took with my XSI (my first slr) and probably my favorite shot of mine to date. a different version is in my portfolio already but i spent some time doing some extra stuff to make it look nice for this challenge...

Great DoF - the background really adds to this photo. The flower is captured well with good focus. Also like how your border is inside the frame. Nicely done.

Beauty fades with time. Nice point. It's an interesting composition, with the subject way off on the side and a fair amount of negative space on the left, but it works for this one. A bit shallower on the DOF than I am partial to (Hey, it's a macro of a very small flower!), but that fine fuzz on the flower is nice and sharp. I like the fine fuzz.

I really like that border. Did you try changing it to a different layer mode? Might have had an interesting effect in luminosity or lighten or multiply, or applied as a combination of more than one.
