Paddle boat adrift in the lake out back. Caught in the middle of a snow storm. Fortunately my life is going a little better than this.

My intent was to reflect upon the lives of those who have lost homes and/of jobs, and have been set adrit during these hard economic times. Thus I chose this boat, cold and covered with snow, adrift in a snow storm.

PS: It's mine, and I had to wade into the cold water to retrieve it. A rain storm the day before raised the lake level to the point it drifte off from its perch on the shore.

Brightness and contrast adjustments, cropped and resized.

Very much like the picture. Not sure of title/relevance.

This is one of those shots that appeals to me, though I am finding it difficult to articulate why. I like just the hint of color indicating that either better times are remembered, or better times are just ahead.

I like this image a lot. Its almost mono apart from the little bit of colour , what appears to be dark blue inside the boat. I guess the bankside must be very close to the bottom of the frame? I little more clear water at the bottom of the shot would have made the framing better. The snow gives a 'gritty' hard edge to the shot which accentuates the harshness of the weather conditions. Good shot and interpretation.

Great tones and feel to this.

On the bright side, that boat won't sink. And spring will come.

Would have been better if you took without it snowing.

very nice. i really like the isolation and the mood. I think it would work even better if it was more open, could see more world around it.

makes me think this is a possible Bear_Music entry. A solid entry for sure.

This is a neat picture, I assume that is snow falling! I just would have cropped out that little thing in the bottom corner

The snow makes this photo look noisy when it probably isn't
The colours (shades) int his photo unfortunately are uninspiriong. Plenty could have been achieved in PP to get more out of this
