I wasn't going to submit a photo for this challenge because I couldn't get out to the ball field like I wanted this past weekend. I had an idea of either utilizing home plate or the outfield, where I have spent half my life. Unfortunately later it snowed too so I never got out.

Anyway I decided to set something up tonight and thought this was the best of the bunch. Hopefully it doesn't bomb like my first three! Looking for my best which wouldn't be too difficult so I am shooting low...4.5.

Shot in RAW, cropped, adjusted curves, slightly increased the reds and blues, resized and saved as a jpg.

You must be a very dedicated softball player to go to spring training! My spring training involved show up twenty minutes early for the first game to do paperwork and see if anyone else wants to play shortstop this season, lol.

The lighting here feels harsh and it's the first thing I notice. The frame also feels really crowded. I think a simpler subject - perhaps just the ball and glove? - would help focus on the details.

The lighting isn't very complimentary. Bounced or diffused flash might have worked better.
