LOL, I love this! Nicely done, the fact that she's looking in that direction makes this shot believable.

don't crush this pretty face! :o) a little bit grainy and the hand is out of focus.

why would you want to crush such a pretty head, though : ) ?

what a honey!

almost a great use of the sense of scales..worth trying again.

this is a picture of a lovely young lady, it's too bad her head needed crushing. she has lovely full lips. would love to hear that she can play chess. the ring on the hand is just a teeny weeny bit distracting. nice picture.

Nice effort on this. Looks like the hand shook a bit. Nice framing though. Focus on the hand is off, looks ok on the girl. Lighting is ok. Meets the challenge. 7 waltoml.

A little better lighting and DOF and this one could be pulled off. They have to be focused better though and that doesn't necessarily mean they both have to be totally in focus, but the same focus. THe lighting is too bright in the foreground or too dark where the girl is. Good Luck - Inspzil

As I said in the other one. First trick shot every child tries to take with their first camera. But the hand is way out of focus.

No focus... no glory.
10/28/2002 01:28:00 PM
it meets the challenge but the hand really needs to be in focus for this to work.

Sorry, but I think the focus should be on the fingers/hand and the thumb is on the girl's chin, not under it. Steady fingers would have helped me a bit, too, but you were probably going for the crushing motion, right? 7 Swash

The big difference in light intensity and skin color between the foreground and background subject spoil the effect. The hand also has no shadow where the girl does, so it is obvious that the hand is not trully holding the face.
Play around with light to get rid of the shadows, try to find a balance for the hand and girl skin intensity. Use more light to be able to use a faster shutterspeed to avoid the camera shake that is so visible around the hand and to get rid of the high amount of noise.

Kids in the hall? Must be a fellow Canadian. Too bad the lighting on the hand is so different from the lighting on the cutie. 8

Poor thing -- a very attractive head to be subjecting to such cruelty :)

a bit blurred and out of focus - on both subjects.
