 Gimmick entry.


Well, I'm pleasantly surprised with the finish on this one. It's now a new top 5 on my profile, and is up there among my personal favorites.

Some notes:

This was a very last minute entry. I literally drew it and shot it within an hour, only hours before the challenge closed (and only a half-hour before I had to leave the house to go look after a friend's kids). So for it to do well despite that is cool.

I also wish I could have done more with it. I wish I had someone else's hand as a model. I wish I'd have had a proper background. I wish I'd have spent some time making puzzle pieces that I could have pasted on some glass behind my hand to make it look like those pieces were flying off the puzzle on the hand. I wish I had better lighting.

I wish, I wish, I wish.

It is what it is however, and I'm happy with it for what it is.

Pretty darn clever and nice art skills! You can always go back and make it the way you want, you know. Completely outside of anything for a DPC challenge. Yes, perhaps even just for you! :-) Kinda hope you went wandering about with that on your hand for a few days. Probably got you some puzzled glances.

Wow, that must have taken a long time! Such dedication. I likethe way the final product turned out as well, for the most part. The light bit on the wrist is a little distracting from the overall product.

wonderful job! love it.....IMHO I would have crop just a little bit off the bottom of the hand or colored it a bit more.......still a 10 from me!

Oh man, what an incredible amount of work. Most intense execution. Top 10, even though I think the thumb area could have used a TINY bit more light, just to define the edges. Great job.
