 This doesn't have any deep meaning behind. I always enjoy close up portraits and thought I'd try something dramatic with the lighting. I was experimenting with a homemade snoot. The flash was about 3' away with an 8" cloth snoot to restrict the light to just the face. The flash had a 1/2 CTO gel on it to warm it up a bit.

Post Processing - warming filter, sharpen eye, curves on eye punch it up, dodge and burn to emphasize the eye, add border, save for web
