This to my eye looks and feels like HDR and it is very well done, not too sure if i like the sky though...

This looks like a Motek desert/freakishly tone mapped sky shot. The border looks about right, too. I always think this kind of sky is over the top, but it typically works (in the get a high score kinda way). I like it, nonetheless.

I think the sky is over-treated here, and seems really harsh against the sand.

Is this HDR? can't really tell from the clouds or not...the sand looks normal and right but the clouds look funny

The color contrast is jaw dropping.
A better picture than I fear it will be called by this challenge.
