Street photography in the best sense of the word, and a puzzler to boot. This shot has it all: people doing their own thing, abandoned store front, pay phone, ATM... What are they up to????
I don't vote challenges much anymore, but I'd have voted this highly. Great shot. |

This picture grows on me every time I see it. It's a spectacular capture. At first, I really hated the guy in the foreground, but now I think he balances out the composition. Anyway, I still have a yellow ribbon left, so here you go:

I always like photographs where part of the picture is outside the frame. Can there really be a hoop up there, in the street? Or another guy a few yards out of shot? Or just a wall, and this is a solo game of dreams? The other two men are indifferent ... city life, I guess. And one other puzzle: what the hell is a cheese steak? Sounds revolting.

| Okay, I'm really not sure what this has to do with being puzzled. Maybe me being puzzled about why this supposedly represents being puzzled is the trick? So I suppose it does qualify, but in an awfully roundabout way ;) Not the best street shot I've seen, but it is kind of funny to watch him chase that balloon while the guy next to him just looks so bored. What's a cheese steak? That sounds icky. |

| The components of this image appear very artificial and incoherent, but I can't quite work out what's in the original and what's added. I'm afraid it doesn't work for me. |
