 Thought the flowers and the baseball were a good representation of April, especially with a little water on the flowers. Set my wife's Valentine's Day flowers on the kitchen counter; put a tube originally used to hold my daughter's playdough containers into the middle of the flowers to hold the baseball; spritzed the flowers with water; and set a tripod over the top of the flowers to take the shot. In editing, I cropped, brightened and sharpened a bit and modified the hue / sat to bring out the yellow in the flowers. Cloned out a little distracting glare caused by the water on the center of the flowers. I was going to clone out the dirt on my baseball, but thought the scuffs brought some character.

The lighting here is really harsh and the black background behind the flowers and ball is distracting... perhaps if it were green or blue or a more organic color...

Comes off very flat. I popped this into PSP to see, and found the histogram is flat on the rightmost 1/4. A quick levels adjust really brightened it up and brought out the dewdrops.
