For Tanguera, in addition to the two large eyes, "bees have three simple eyes that are called ocelli (singular: ocellus), near the top of their head. Ocelli are simple eyes that do not focus but provide information about light intensity."

The other two are farther up this bee's head forming a triangle with the red one you see in the middle (they're all red on this one).

Seems a little too close to me. I'd be interested to see what it looked like a little farther out. (It was odd, but I had to move back to really focus on it. )
