 My Apple I Challenge entry: I hope this one does better.

Bought three Fuji apples after I went to the car show last Friday. Bought the Tulips with other flowers at Pure on Sunday. Been feeling a bit depressed and got sick so I did nothing until today. I did buy some brown curtains for the background at Targét yesterday. To tired to deal with it. So after a couple of cold drug induced naps I felt up to it. Oh bought the new metalic vase on Monday as well. This one and a silver one.

Lit with one clamp lamp pointed up and to the left of the subjects with a piece of white poster board over head and a reflector down front. Camera on tripod with cable remote. I shot it first with the regluar black background but everything looked liked it was suspended in space so I reshot with the brown. I think the apples stand out well in the image. We'll see.

Post: Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0. Curves adjustment to lighten the shadows a bit. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue saturation. Another curve adjustment for shadows. Two crops. Adjusts sharpness. Resize. USM.

Soft and dark, this is another one that reminds me of those classic still life paintings.

Apples are alittle dark but I think that helps bring out the color in the tulips and it may have been intentional :) Its a very good still life. The lighting on the tulips is amazing. 7

Nice lighting on the flowers but i think you should really bring up the apples.. after all it's about them

I like this shot but I am looking more at the tulips as they are better exposed. If the challenge was about Tulips you would have got an extra point out of me. Nice shot, nice light.

Nice composition. I am assuming you were going for the old masters look as IMO the contrast is a little flat.

I like the lighting here very much. However, my eyes were drawn to the tulips first. Bringing the apples out a little more would have given it a higher score from me, but still a 6. Very pretty!

Love the soft lighting on the flowers but I wish it was just a tad brighter especially on and around the apples.

This is beautiful but a bit to dark. A little more light on the apples or just the top apple would have been better I think.
