 I never see my son without one of these in his hand. A Sony Playstation controller, red translucent plastic, lit by a single blue spot (front) and a white umbrella (behind).

Used the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro lens to get in close. Shot 53 images in the session to bracket between 10 - 30 seconds for f32 DOF and try various viewpoints.

PS work -
Unsharp mask, sharpen, gaussian blur, brightness/contrast, saturation (boosted the red and blue channels significantly), crop with a slight rotate, border added using canvass size.

This is a neat treatment of an everyday object, and it's interesting to see that it is obviously a habit, the right hand joystick has some of the texture worn off. What type of light sorce did you use for this?

Very inventive angle of a common object. I like the colors and the saturation. It feels a little oversharpened to me, but I think the textures and composition are great.

great start, but take it a step further... The characters on the buttons are going to be the defining point of your subject, so use them! The lighting is bold, and the shadows really help to define the angle. Definitely a great start.
