On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer. |

Dog is adorable and the carpet is a good background. The tennis ball makes a nice prop. Shot could be a little sharper on the face. Big issue here is the glowing green pupils; options are to take the shot with a flash bounced off the ceiling instead of pointed at the dog, or in PP either try desaturating and darkening greens or shifting them to brown and darkening. |

Looks like the focus is a bit off to me.. .looks like the ball is sharp and the face isn't. Nicely composed. |

The bare flash directly into the dogs eyes doesn't work well. |
