On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer.

Dog is adorable and the carpet is a good background. The tennis ball makes a nice prop. Shot could be a little sharper on the face. Big issue here is the glowing green pupils; options are to take the shot with a flash bounced off the ceiling instead of pointed at the dog, or in PP either try desaturating and darkening greens or shifting them to brown and darkening.

Looks like the focus is a bit off to me.. .looks like the ball is sharp and the face isn't. Nicely composed.

The bare flash directly into the dogs eyes doesn't work well.
