On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer. |

camera-mounted flash = flat light and too much glare. Learn how to use indirect lighting. |

Lovely cat (medium-haired black cats are a favorite of mine) but there are some things I would do differently. A sheet or blanket behind the cat would create a nice, non-distracting backdrop, and bouncing the flash off the ceiling might eliminate the glowing green pupils. |
