 After finding an apple with suitable character at the grocery store, I played around and found the apple skin was too shiny for direct light. So I shone a lamp again a wall and used the soft reflected light instead. In addition to accentuate the softness, I opened the lens up to f2.8 to get a shallow DOF.

A very cozy photo. Nice work on keeping the cup and saucer OOF. It's just enough in focus to make me want more, but doesn't take away from the apple..for me. The color of the cup and background are great. Love the deep purple and blues.

I love how rugged that apple looks. Great colors, nice, soft lighting and good composition. This feels classic, reminds me of typical still life oil paintings.

This would have been a lot better if the apple was more appealing... the apple looks kinda off...

don#t get the connection between those two. overall a tad dark, looks like too much nosie rduction was used
